I went to a camp called “Summer Fun Days” where we had Olympic Week. My team was the green team, so I decided to do something crazy. My dad painted my hair green and I wore green socks, green shorts, a green shirt and a green necklace! My friends told me I looked like a leprechaun. Some other people called me, “Hulk.” It was funny.
My brother’s team was red, so my dad painted his hair too. Of course dad painted it red. Tory wore all red clothes.
When we got to camp and the games began I was so excited.
We started with a knockout basketball game. My friend on my team won the game for us.
Next we did another basketball game called, “Shoot on the Spots.” We won that game too. We were on a roll.
After basketball, the next game was my favorite, “Floor Hockey.” I love hockey so much. Guess what, I scored the winning goal for our team!
We had snack after that. Nothing really exciting to explain about that though!
So those were the indoor games we played, but we still had plenty to go.
The first outdoor game we played was soccer. We lost in our first round game, but it was okay. Dad taught me that at this level it’s most important to have fun.
The next game was, “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” My brother’s red team beat us.
Up next was a one mile run that the blue team won. Our team came in second.
After that was the 40-yard dash. I came in second in the first race. In the finals, one of my teammates and friends came in second and I came in third. I was really proud of myself. I’m not usually a fast runner!
In the last event if we came in first or second, we’d win the Olympics. My dad said it was a relay race. I ran as fast as my little legs could take me to the next guy. He ran to the next runner, then to a girl who ran to tag the last person to finish the race and…should I tell you what happened? Okay… fine I’ll tell you… WE CAME IN SECOND!!!
So when the winners were announced they said the winner for the older kids was… THE GREEN TEAM!
I was so happy and so excited at the same time.
Yay, we won!
